Is Smiling a Best Practice in Your Church

My wife and I visited a ton of churches over a 3 year period. We studied the guest services and one of the things we noticed was the absence of smiles. The song “smile a while and give your face a rest” came to mind repeatedly as we visited churches. It was almost like their faith had not made connection with their face. For what it is worth, please consider teaching your guest service staff to smile. I would say it is a ministry best practice! By the way, a fake smile is said not to connect with the eyes and your guests may detect it right off. I know we want to provide great service, exceptional service to our first, second and third time guests and that is the priority but shouldn’t we do it while smiling from the heart?
